The Discourse and Rhetoric Group at Loughborough University are running an informal one-day symposium on ‘Categories, Identities and Persons in Interaction’ on Tuesday 29th June, 2010.
We’d like this to be the first of an annual summer event with a specific focus on categories, identities and persons, within the context of debates about conversation analysis, sequential organization and membership categorization analysis.
The day will be organized around short presentations by speakers and informal roundtable discussions and debates.
Provisional speakers include:
• Rod Watson
• Stephen Hester
• Richard Fitzgerald
• Nick Llewellyn
• Elizabeth Stokoe
• Charles Antaki
To register for the symposium, please send an email with your name, contact details, and affiliation by Friday June 18th. Registration will be £15 to be paid on the day.
Any queries please contact Carly Butler (c.w.butler@lboro.ac.uk) or Elizabeth Stokoe (e.h.stokoe@lboro.ac.uk)
