Dear all,

Thank you for your patience in waiting for the registration for this event. It is definitely going ahead, we are just having technological difficulties with the registration page. Here are some updated details for you:

Cost:

The cost for the three day workshop is $180. Attending day one only is free as this will be support by the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. The one day event is for workshop attendees as well as people from the University who are interested in hearing about CARM (but numbers will be capped, so registration will still be required for those wishing to only attend Day 1). Dr Sikveland has said that to attend Days 2 and 3, participants will also need to attend Day 1.

Time:

The dates are still Monday 18 April to Wednesday 20 April. The timing will be 9:30am-4:30pm on Days 1 and 2 and 9:30am-12:30pm on Day 3 (with lunch at the end). Dr Sikveland will also stick around for a little after Day 3 to discuss further. We are also planning to go to dinner on the Tuesday night at somewhere close to Macquarie University. Once the registrations for the 3-day workshop have come in, I will send out an invitation to this additional dinner.

We will send an email as soon as we have the page up and running. In the mean time, please pass this on to other individuals and groups who might be interested!

Kind regards

Sarah

(from a previous communication illustrating the details of the CARM event)

Day 1 – CARM basics which covers the development of CARM, from the early days and first collaborations/workshops, the things that happened along the way (where CARM can take you) as well as start practising the technical bits in developing transcripts that roll out line by line in powerpoint slides with the audio/video. How to do anonymisation in audio/video.

Day 2 – CARM Affiliate 1 Main focus on using Rein’s material to develop a CARM workshop. Involves a data session, decide on what to focus on, develop slides and present them. This will cover ‘how to develop a CARM workshop’ from start to finish.

Day 3 – CARM Affiliate 2  Continue Day 2 work on technical side of things as well as time to develop training/workshops based on your own research/teaching areas.

Day 1 would be open more generally to people within Macquarie as well as to those attending the rest of the training. The idea would be that to become a CARM Affiliate, you would need to attend all three days.

We will try to get a computer room for at least the second two days as the training is run on PC (rather than Mac), so unless everyone has a PC laptop they can bring, it wouldn’t really work. If you have one, please feel free to bring it so you can work on your own space.

The dates are 18-20 April and the training would run 9:30am-4:30pm with lunch included. The first day will be a free training event that will be covered by the Faculty while the CARM Affiliate days will be around $180 for the two days (to be confirmed).
