Thanks for the last session that looked at the Penelope Soto bond trial. The noticings were very informative. I have put together an abstract for the upcomming LIAR IV (politeness conference), and hopefully it will be accepted for the panel that’s looking at the data.
Next TAG will happen on the 15th of April at UQ
As usual, it will start at 1:30. We’re not quite sure of the venue as yet, but we’re getting on top of that now. We will let you know closer to the event.

Here are some logistics for the campus.
For the UQ campus at St Lucia.
The University’s main campus at St Lucia is set on a magnificent 114-hectare site bounded on all sides by the Brisbane River, seven kilometres from the Brisbane CBD. The campus has expansive landscaped grounds, three lakes, an aquatic centre, tennis courts, eight athletics ovals with a 600-seat grandstand, and facilities for elite rowing. The campus fans out from a 1930s, heritage-listed sandstone Cloister enclosing the Great Court.
The main entrance to the University is along Sir Fred Schonell Drive, located on Map 179 F2 of the UBD Brisbane “Refidex” Street Directory. From Brisbane’s Central Business District, Sir Fred Schonell Drive is most easily accessed via Coronation Drive.
Visitor parking on campus is available in two multi-level car parks on Sir Fred Schonell Drive.
The CityCat ferry is the most enjoyable and often the most convenient means of getting to the St Lucia campus. The campus CityCat terminal is located near the corner of Sir William MacGreggor Drive and Blair Drive.
There are two bus stations located at the University of Queensland – Chancellor’s Place bus station and UQ lakes bus station.
From Brisbane’s Central Business District, the Brisbane City Council bus routes which run directly to the University of Queensland are the 412 (Express from City to Chancellor’s place station), the 411 (City to Chancellor’s place station) and the 109 (City to UQ lakes station). Other BCC bus routes which stop here are the 402 (Toowong to Chancellor’s Place station), the 428 (Indooroopilly to Chancellor’s Place station), the 427 (Chapel Hill to Chancellor’s Place station), the 432 (Kenmore to Chancellor’s Place station), the 414 (West Taringa to Chancellor’s Place station),the 209 (Carindale Interchange to UQ Lakes station), the 169 (Eight Mile Plains busway station to UQ Lakes station) and the 139 (Calamvale to UQ Lakes Station).
The main bus stop on the St Lucia campus is located at Chancellor’s Place near the J.D. Story building. The other bus station is located at UQ Lakes (near Field No.3 and Alumni teaching garden). For timetables and further information, try the TransLink Website or call TransLink on 13 12 30.
The nearest train station to the St Lucia campus is Toowong, on the Citytrain Ipswich Line. From Toowong Station, cross Benson Street and catch a bus to UQ – the 402, 411, or 412.
Alternatively the Dutton Park stop on the Beenleigh/Ferny Grove train line is situated near the Eleanor Schonell Bridge. It is possible to walk from this station or catch the 109 bus from Annerley road over the Eleanor Schonell bridge to the St Lucia campus
The St Lucia campus is easily accessed by bicycle, with a safe riverside bicycle path connecting the campus to the city as well as via the Eleanor Schonell bridge.
